NationsBenefits and PrePaid Benefits Cards

A detailed explanation of the Clear Spring Health NationsBenefits Prepaid Benefits Cards.

When your client enrolls with Clear Spring Health, they will receive a Welcome Packet and Member ID card. Depending on their plan and eligibility, they may also receive a NationsBenefits Card if they qualify for grocery benefits or have over-the-counter (OTC) benefits included in their coverage.

If your client does not receive a card because they either don't qualify or their plans do not include Grocery and/or OTC benefits, they will be mailed one when they earn a reward incentive through the Better Health 4 You program.

To receive grocery benefits, your client must: 

  • Have a qualifying chronic condition (Diabetes, COPD, 
    congestive heart failure, or chronic kidney disease)
  • Their Health Risk Assessment (HRA) must be completed, submitted, and processed
  • And they must either have validating claims data or an SSBCI provider attestation form completed and submitted to Clear Spring Health. You can learn more about the qualifying process HERE.

Depending on their specific plan and eligibility, your client may receive their benefits monthly or quarterly.

  • If they qualify and are receiving monthly benefits, their card will be preloaded with your over-the-counter benefit and grocery benefit. The balance on their card will refresh on the 1st of each month.
  • If they qualify and are receiving quarterly benefits, they will receive the full benefit amount for the quarter in which the plan becomes effective. After that, future quarterly amounts will be added automatically on the first day of each new quarter.

    • Quarterly benefit amounts are added on the first day of each quarter:
      • Q1: January–March
      • Q2: April–June
      • Q3: July–September
      • Q4: October–December
  • Please remember, unused funds do not roll over.
  • The Clear Spring Health Better Health 4 You incentives will be loaded to the same card as they are awarded.
  • Your clients can use their cards to access valuable resources such as healthy food and over-the-counter health products, helping them feel supported and cared for.
